RACE 1 – DAHUA COMMUNITY TROTTERS STANDING START HANDICAP – 2300 metres

PRINCE KENNY – Stood flat footed at the start and was slow to begin. Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 500 metres for which a warning was issued.

DONNIE GAL – Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after the start for which a warning was issued.

AFFAIRE DE COVER – Pre-race blood sample. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD – Worked forward to obtain the lead leaving the 2000 metres. Post-race swab sample.

LEAF STRIDE – Improved three wide from the 1900 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1600 metres.

 

RACE 2 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

BIRDSONG – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 3 – D M PLUMBING PACE – 1609 metres

HELENS BOY – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested. Checked behind the weakening HE IS GOLD CLASS between the 550 metres and the 400 metres.

FEARFUL – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1300 metres.

HE IS GOLD CLASS – Pre-race blood sample. Failed to run on from the 600 metres to be beaten 85.5 metres and finished in last position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be suffering from atrial fibrillation and acting under the provisions of Rule 101C(2)(a) the colt was stood down for 14 days and until a veterinary certificate including the results of a satisfactory ECG are submitted and until it completes one requalifying trial.

RACING WRITER – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – LLOWALONG FARMS 3YO PACE – 1609 metres

AGATHA BLOOM – Post-race swab sample.

RINGIN THE CAPTAIN USA – Pre-race blood sample. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse not having competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Failed to run on from the 650 metres to be beaten 58.6 metres and finished in last position. Driver J Callaghan explained that when the horse received cover from that point the horse failed to race genuinely and he was disappointed in the performance of RINGIN THE CAPTIAN USA today. In view of the disappointing performance of the horse it was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

NOTHING FINER – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

CENT FOR PLEASURE – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.

OPAS GIRL NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages with cover before working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 950 metres.

 

RACE 5 – FOR A REASON STANDING AT COBBITTIY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres

SURF ACE – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

BLACKJACK BART - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Post-race swab sample.

FIRESTRIKE – Became unbalanced and galloped out for which the gelding will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Raced three wide in the early and middle stages until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 950 metres. Raced greenly in the home straight on the final occasion. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 6 – CONDELL PARK PRODUCE PACE – 1609 metres

BARTELLO – Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 1200 metres for which a warning was issued.

SAN SEBASTIAN – Fractious during the score up when being eased by Driver R Alchin resulting in the colt shifting in and making contact with BARTELLO which resulted in D Murphy being momentarily unseated from the sulky. In view of the colt’s recent record a warning was issued.

PARTY CENTRAL NZ – Trainer J Grimson was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding. Over raced throughout the event.

FASTING – Hung in under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion. Driver R Morris was cautioned in relation to his position prior to the start and to ensure he maintains his correct position in the preliminary circles prior to the start. Post-race swab sample.

ENJABONARLO – Pre-race blood sample. worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1150 metres.

 

RACE 7 – HORSPORT REHYDRATION PACE – 1609 metres

KELLOSHIEL – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

OUR UNCLE JIM - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

SHEVCHENKO – Pre-race blood sample.

GISSELLE – Post-race swab sample.

IM ALRITE - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 8 – ULE HOOF OIL PACE – 1609 metres

ROCKNROLL COWBOY – Pre-race blood sample. post-race swab sample.

RED REACTOR NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

UNCLE TIGER – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres.
