RACE 1 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Pre-race blood sample.

HUTA NZ – Held up over the final 150 metres of the event.

RAKERO ROCKET NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration to the offside foreleg. Acting on veterinary advice, no stand down period was required.

JUNGLE DRAGON – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

NYACK – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

DANGEROUS – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

IDEAL TIMING – Pre-race blood sample.

FASTING - Held up over the final 50 metres.

MCWIZARD – Held up over the final 50 metres.

PARTY CENTRAL NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

SAINT CRUSADER – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 3 – NUTRIEN EQUINE PACE – 2300 metres

HUXTON NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1500 metres. Stewards questioned Driver Jason Grimson with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 8^th placing beaten 27 metres. Mr Grimosn advised Stewards that the gelding had been working well in preparation for tonight’s event, and he expected a bold performance, however in his opinion the gelding spat the bit and failed to travel over the concluding stages. Mr Grimson further added in hindsight the gelding may not be suited to the 2300 metres at Menangle. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Grimson, Stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 4 – LIVAMOL WITH BIOWORMA PACE – 1609 metres

BUZZ BOMB – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.

GOODTIME BRAVO – Inconvenienced when jostling with TUKAHA between the 450 metres and the 350 metres causing GOODTIME BRAVO to break stride. After considering the recent record of the gelding, in addition to the evidence of Driver Will Rixon a warning was issued.

SNAP SHOT NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

TUKAHA – Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for GOODTIME BRAVO breaking stride approaching the 350 metres. After taking evidence from Dean Cernovskis, the driver of TUKAHA and Will Rixon the driver of GOODTIME BRAVO, it was established that prior to reaching the pushout pole at the 400 metres Dean Cernovskis commenced to shift his runner wider on the track and made wheel to wheel contact with GOODTIME BRAVO, where as a result of Mr Rixon not looking to surrender his position at that stage, caused both runners to jostle for some distance until GOODTIME BRAVO was inconvenienced and broke stride. After considering the evidence of both drivers, Mr Cernovskis was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(b) for causing another runner to cover more ground than necessary and further under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference.

RACE 5 – IRT HORSE TRANSPORT PACE – 1609 metres

RAVISHING SLOY – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 100 metres.

CASSIUS DECK – Trainer Steve Turnbull was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Will Rixon as the driver of the gelding.

KANENA PROVLIMA – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

SOUTH SEAS ROCK NZ – Post-race swab sample.

SMOOTH BUZZ – Trainer Steve Turnbull was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Jett Turnbull as the driver of the gelding. Pre-race blood sample. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 100 metres.

RIPP – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE MENANGLE PARK TROTTERS CUP (GROUP 3) – 2300 metres

LOTUS LOUISE – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Cameron Fitzpatrick as the driver of the gelding.

LEAF STRIDE NZ - Trainer Anton Golino was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Gavin Fitzpatrick as the driver of the gelding. Pre-race blood sample.

AFFAIR DE COVER - Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Broke after the start. After considering the recent record of the gelding, it was continued outside the standing start draw.

SUNNY GEE - Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

CORMORAN STRIKE NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.

RAKERO BLAZE NZ – Broke after the start. After considering the recent record of the mare, it was continued outside the standing start draw.

RACE 7 – CORDINA FOOD CO LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

POPS JOY – Worked forward to the lead passing the 800 metres.

GO WITHOUT – Broke stride during the early stages of the score up. After considering the recent record of the gelding, it was given its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Post-race swab sample.

GUILTY PARTY – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres.
