A false start was declared at the second attempt when BELLAGANOOSH again broke gait checking runners on the second row. At which point the starter was directed by stewards for BELLAGANOOSH to be withdrawn for causing two (2) false starts. The starter immediately advised the stewards that the first offence against BELLAGANOOSH was not the mare’s fault as the mobile barrier had shifted up the track & when the mobile driver corrected the mobile the barrier arm had contacted the muzzle of BELLAGANOOSH causing it to break gait & the first offence was due to the correction of the mobile barrier, not solely the racing manners of the horse. In the circumstances, Stewards rescinded the first warning issued against BELLAGANOOSH and the mare was permitted to start.

Stewards delayed the All Clear at the request of Angela Hurst (TULHURST PEBBLES) which was 2nd past the post & Amanda Turnbull (A LIL BIT OF LOVE) which was 3rd past the post to view the available replays from the 500m if BELLAGANOOSH had improved inside marker pegs when obtaining a run when SINFUL KISS broke gait.
