RACE 1 – YIRRIBEE PACING STUD CATTLEWASH TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

ISLAND FRANKIE – Worked forward to the lead near the 900 metres. Commenced to give ground leaving the 300 metres and weakened over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver C Hart explained he had to work harder than expected to obtain the lead. Notwithstanding this, he was disappointed with the gelding’s inability to finish the race off. He added connections were concerned ISLAND FRANKIE was not replicating its trial form in races and would review how the gelding pulled up in the days subsequent before deciding on its immediate racing future.

ALDEBARAN DENBAY – Pre-race blood sample.

LA LUNE NOIRE – Out of position at the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Approaching the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. Given LA LUNE NOIR was having only its second race start for its new stable Trainer/Driver S Hewitt was advised the filly would be stood down from racing until it completes one satisfactory trial.

ONE PINEVALE HILL – Post-race swab sample.

DONNIE GAL – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.

CASUALCONNECTION – Caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 800 metres. Leaving the 200 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer/Driver B Fitzpatrick explained the filly is better suited when able to stride forward in its races. He added that initially some runners were dropping to the marker pegs however, shortly thereafter came back out to the running line which made it difficult for his filly to obtain the running line. B Fitzpatrick stated that being  a three year old filly racing older horses, coupled with the fact he had to race wider for longer than anticipated were both factors that proved detrimental.

RACE 2 – BE HAPPY MACH @ WINGATE FARM TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

CALL ME JACK – Post-race swab sample.

MOJITO MADNESS – Pre-race blood sample.

KINGS CASTLE – Leaving the 400 metres commenced to weaken and gave ground over the concluding stages.

REVVIN REYNARD – Weakened significantly over the concluding stages to be beaten 93 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate. Connections were advised REVVIN REYNARD would be stood down from racing until it completes one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.

OH ITS ON – Over raced during the score up and when being restrained near the start became unbalanced and broke gait losing valuable ground and was out of position at the strat. A warning was issued. Improved three wide during the middle stages and was obliged to race three wide for the remainder of the event. When questioned regarding the tactics employed on OH ITS ON, Driver C Hart explained that after breaking gait at the start he was of the view he did not lose significant ground therefore he did not have to make too much use of the colt to rejoin the main body of the field. He added near the 1000 metres his runner overraced significantly and he was concerned he would collide with the back of PRETTY PRIVILEGE. Therefore he was forced to to shift wider to avoid that runner which resulted in OH ITS ON racing three wide from that point, a tactic he would not otherwise adopted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Connections were advised that due to the colt’s intractability OH ITS ON would be required to complete one satisfactory official trial.

ROGUE BANDIT – Pre-race blood sample.

DOUBLE NEEDS – Hung in under pressure between the 500 metres and the 300 metres and gave ground over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver C Griffiths explained it was his intention to try and hold the back of the leader however due to the faster than expected first quarter, he had to make more use of DOUBLE NEEDS than expected which in his opinion proved to be detrimental over the concluding stages.

RUBATEEKI – Had a tendency to race roughly throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

FORGIVE AND FORGET – Pre-race blood sample.

GET US A TINNY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled in the off side nostril. Connections were advised GET US A TINNY would now be stood down from racing until it competes on satisfactory official trial (Rule 101B(2)).

RED REACTOR - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.

CAULONIA COURAGE – Commenced to weaken passing the 200 metres. When questioned regarding the tactics employed on CAULONIA COURAGE Driver R Morris explained Trainer T Williams had instructed him to attempt to lead and to allow the gelding to stride freely. He added he drove the gelding on the 22 September 2026 and on that occasion he attempted to hold the gelding back to the field and rate more conservative sectionals however, this was unsuccessful.  With this in mind, he drove to the instructions issued by Mr Williams and allowed CAULONIA COURAGE to stride through the first 800 metres, which was covered in 56.3 seconds. He added approaching the 600 metres he commenced to drive CAULONIA COURAGE with some vigour but believed the 28.2 third quarter was within the horses capabilities and near the 500 metres, when he felt separation between himself and the runners behind him, he thought he may be able to go on and win the event. R Morris added that he was disappointed with CAULONIA COURAGE’S failure to run on over the final 300 metres as he believed the sectionals recorded by the gelding up until the 300 metres were reasonable in this grade of race. T Williams confirmed the instructions and added he was disappointed the gelding failed to run on. He explained he may look to race CAULONIA COURAGE at an alternative track at its next start. R Morris and T Williams were advised that their explanations would be noted and that Stewards would undertake a wagering review of the race.
