GO COLOUR MY WORLD – Driver Eli Lepper was questioned regarding his driving tactics, of particular concern to the Stewards was his decision approaching the home straight to not present the gelding to a clear run in the sprint lane and instead followed CORZAN DRAMA which was leading up the track before being held up for clear running. Mr Lepper stated approaching the final when attempting to activate ear plugs he had difficulty before reaching down with his hand to activate, however once he had done this he attempted to steer down the track but SWEDISH MEATBALLS had already established a run to the inside. Mr Lepper did drive the gelding forward but was never into clear running. Stewards issued  Mr Lepper a reprimand under Rule 149(2) for an unacceptable drive, in that he had not taken a run via the sprint lane when that was first available to him, In taking no further action Stewards considered Mr Lepper’s relative inexperience having only had 53 drives.
