RACE 1 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 2300 metres

ON DASHER – Pre-race blood sample.

NOVANTA RISING – Placed in restricted room and inconvenienced upon entry to the home straight when GOODTIME LOUIS was shifted wider on the track.

DAVOLAS LEGACY NZ – Withdrawn by Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 6.24pm after the mare was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the request of driver Gavin Fitzpatrick following the completion of the preliminary.  The veterinary examination revealed the mare to be 2/5 lame and was stood down for a period of seven days and the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance.

GOODTIME LOUIS – An inquiry into the late arrival of Driver Jason Grimson was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.  An inquiry into the reasons for the gelding shifting out upon entry to the home straight and placing NOVANTA RISING in restricted room and being inconvenienced was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

MICK DANGER – Hung in under pressure and contacted the off side sulky wheel of SNAP SHOT NZ approaching the 100 metres causing MICK DANGER to break stride.  After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

WHERE BACK – Gave ground over the final 500 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

OHOKA COBRA NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

BARTELLO – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

RACE 2 – NUTRIEN EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO FILLIES - SEMI FINAL 1 – 1609 metres

STRIPES – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

EYE WISH – Pre-race blood sample.  Raced roughly under pressure when obtaining a run to the inside of FAKE FRIENDS passing the 200 metres.

FAKE FRIENDS – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.  An inquiry into the reasons for the filly shifting out under pressure in the home straight was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

RACE 3 – NUTRIEN EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS - SEMI-FINAL 1 – 1609 metres

YOTTIE – Shifted out under pressure.  Post-race swab sample.

COHEN THE RED – Held up over the final 50 metres of the event.

FRIZZA – Pre-race blood sample.

ALERT BAY – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 4 – NUTRIEN EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 4YO ENTIRES AND GELDINGS - SEMI-FINAL 1 – 1609 metres

FOREVER ONTHE PUNT – Post-race swab sample.

SEASIDER – Pre-race blood sample.

JUNGLE DRAGON – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

WALTER WARLOCK – Inconvenienced passing the 500 metres.

PETES CRUNCH TIME – Inconvenienced passing the 500 metres.

RACE 5 – NUTRIEN EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO FILLIES - SEMI FINAL 2 – 1609 metres

YIRRADIVA – Pre-race blood sample.

ARK SEA – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

OUR PURPLE PEARL – Driver Chloe Formosa reported to Stewards post the completion of the event that her runner had sustained a flat off side sulky tyre.

SEASIDE BOULEVARD – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field approaching the 1100 metres.  Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE KEVIN ROBINSON FFA (LISTED CLASSIC) – 1609 metres

ALTA WILLIAM – Pre-race blood sample.  Inconvenienced passing the 250 metres when HEZA PUNK ROCKER NZ commenced to give ground and hung in under pressure and contacted marker pegs.

WAMBOYNEINAMERICA – Held up in the early stages of the home straight and contacted marker pegs looking to improve to the inside of HEZA PUNK ROCKER NZ until that run fully developed at the 100 metres.  Stewards were satisfied that whilst WAMBOYNEINAMERICA was racing inside marker pegs when held up behind HEZA PUNK ROCKER NZ the gelding was not driven forward until the runner had regained its position to the outside of the marker pegs and were therefore satisfied that it had not gained an unfair advantage.

SWAYZEE – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

SAINT CRUSADER – Trainer Seaton Grima was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Josh Gallagher as the driver of the gelding.

GOLLY GEE FELLAS – Checked passing the 250 metres when HEZA PUNK ROCKER NZ commenced to give ground and hung in in contact with marker pegs.  Held up in the early stage of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

HUTA NZ – Inconvenienced passing the 250 metres as a result of HEZA PUNK ROCKER NZ commencing to give ground and hang in contacting marker pegs.

HEZA PUNK ROCKER NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres.  Stewards questioned trainer Seaton Grima with regards to the tactics he adopted in the early and middle stages of the event, in addition to the overall performance of the gelding which gave ground over the final 400 metres of the event before hanging in under pressure passing the 250 metres and contacting marker pegs and checking GOLLY GEE FELLAS and ALTA WILLIAM and further inconveniencing ITS CONFIDENTIAL, HUTA NZ and WAMBOYNEINAMERICA.  Mr Grima advised Stewards that it was his intention to lead the event as he did not think given the recent performances of SWAYZEE that that runner would be driven off the arm.  Mr Grima further added that it was his intention to keep the pace moving so as not to allow SWAYZEE to work forward through the middle stages and commence to apply pressure to his runner.  Mr Grima further added that he was extremely disappointed with the performance of the gelding having worked solidly throughout the week in preparation for tonight’s event.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be 3/5 lame in the off side hind leg and acting on the recommendations of the veterinary surgeon it was stood down for a period of seven days and the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Grima and noting the findings of the veterinary surgeon, Stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 7 – NUTRIEN EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS - SEMI-FINAL 2 – 1609 metres

COWBOY CULTURE – Pre-race blood sample.

NOCTURNAL – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.

LOUCASSO – Pre-race blood sample.  Raced roughly after the start.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres.  Post-race swab sample.  A post-race veterinary examination of the colt failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

UPTOWN CHANCE – Jumped a pile of manure in the middle stages of the score up and as a result broke stride and a false start was declared.  No action taken.

RACE 8 – NUTRIEN EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 4YO ENTIRES AND GELDINGS - SEMI-FINAL 2 – 1609 metres

WICKED WIZARD – Raced roughly after the start.  Post-race swab sample.

HEEZA MALTEEZA – Pre-race blood sample.  Held up over the final 50 metres of the event.

ULTIMATE CRUZA – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event. Hung in at various stages throughout the event.

SINALOA – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.  Hung in under pressure and as a result contacted the near side hind leg of DOUBLE LOU passing the 150 metres.  After considering the recent record of the gelding a warning was issued.

WITHDISTINCTION – Raced roughly after the start.

BETTORLIGHTEM UP – Stewards acceded to the request of trainer Jason Grimson to replace himself as the driver of the horse with Will Rixon due to Mr Grimson feeling unwell.

DOUBLE LOU – Pre-race blood sample.  Hung in rounding the final turn. Inconvenienced passing the 150 metres as a result of SINALOA hanging in under pressure and contacting the near side hind leg of DOUBLE LOU.

RACE 9 – PRYDE’S EASIFEED PACE – 1609 metres

BUZZ BOMB – Hung out after the start.  Hung out at various stages throughout the event.

I GOT CHILLS NZ – Post-race swab sample.

MAC BON – Pre-race blood sample.

GO WITHOUT – Broke stride free of interference passing the 400 metres.  After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

COOL NIGHT – Pre-race blood sample.
